NEW V-RAY 3.6 CORE LIGHTNING FAST CPU AND GPU RENDERING SPEED
In V-Ray 3.6 all parts of the engine were accelerated strongly. The new extremely optimized CPU rendering brings V-Ray to rendering speeds never seen before, offers a fully featured and powerful production tool-set for high-quality, high-resolution images and animations with V-Ray. V-Ray offers 100% physically correct ray tracing methods. In addition, V-Ray 3.6 now also offers lightning-fast GPU rendering options for previews and the final frame rendering (for supported functions – see FAQ page).

EASY TO USE-NEW FULLY AUTOMATIC SAMPLING
Simplicity is one of the best new features. V-Ray 3.6’s new automated sampling, with its variance-based adaptive ray tracing technology, offers artists a dramatically different way of setting or fine-tuning complex settings – just select the gi-engine type, render time, and start rendering. Subdivisions, technical rendering settings, none of this is needed in V-Ray 3.6. The new progressive rendering for CPU and GPU gives you immediate feedback on the render result.

GLOBAL LIGHTING & ACCURATE LIGHTS
V-Ray uses physically correct ray tracing methods to calculate lights and reflected light (“GI”) exactly as we see it in reality. You can choose from several global lighting options – precise tracking, approximation, or a mix of both.

PHYSICAL LAYERED BRDFS WITH NEW MATERIALS & SHADERS
V-RAYforC4D offers a real world & multi layered BRDF for the creation of high-end and physically correct materials. Due to its real stratification setup, it is automatically full power conservation correct. Special BRFD material types give you all the tools and artists you could want.

PHYSICAL CAMERAS-VR READY-360 DEGREE STEREO CAMERAS
With the V-Rays real world camera system you can work like a photographer, it offers all physical control and offers detailed depth of field and cinematic motion blur. With the new VR 360 stereo camera types you can access the latest VR technologies.

UNLIMITED UV’S PRO SHADER & TRIPLANAR MAPPING
Our new UV manager tag brings UV channels to C4D. So you can use unlimited UVs per shader for comprehensive UV mapping control. The new triplanar mapping feature enables an artist-friendly workflow to create map models that have no UV map at all.

PROXIES & INSTANCING WITH SHADER & MATERIAL RANDOMIZATION TOOLS
Render massive scenes with proxy objects. V-Ray proxies efficiently replace complex scene geometries and are only loaded at the time of rendering. Using random variation shaders and materials, you can control variations in color and texture to the proxies or renderistances.

NEW SKY MODES, AREA PERSPECTIVE & FASTER VOLUME RENDERING
V-Ray offers several realistic skymodels for realistic lighting of outside and inside scenes, including Hosek sky with atmospheric haze. The fog volume environment now makes faster and is also available on a material basis to make clouds, fog, volume light, god rays, etc.

FULL MAXON HAIR, FUR, SPLINE AND GRASS PROVIDE SUPPORT
V-RAYforC4D fully supports Maxon hair via real 3d geometry using V-Ray’s memory-efficient hair procedures. The V-Ray Hair BRDF gives the right hair shade. Effects such as base color sampling, root tip color & transparency are supported. Also included are V-RayFur and V-Ray FastFur.

NEW VFB-SIEG & OSX-LUT CONTROL, DENOISER & LENS EFFECTS
The advanced VFB offers high-level tools like color correction, exposure, white balance, LUT support, gradient, V-Ray lens effects and the new V-Ray denoiser tool, which you can use to speed up your renderings considerably. It is available on windows and OSX.

NEW V-RAY CLIPPER, RENDER TIME BOOLEAN & RENDER MASK
V-Ray 3.6 offers a real-time clipper that allows you to cut any geometry, even proxies multiple times, making architectural clipping of large buildings a breeze. It also has an option to use custom geometry for render-time boolean values. Every Vray BRDF has ray traced rounding options for automatic beveling for enhanced realism, and the new Render Mask tool lets you mask any area of ​​the rendering using a variety of methods.

CPU & GPU PRODUCTION RENDER & NEW IPR PREVIEW WINDOW
V-Ray’s famous production rendering options have been further improved in terms of speed and functionality. In addition to the very fast and powerful CPU production renderer, we now also offer the option of using GPU for the GPU-supported features.
